I have a great love for the desert southwest. It is possible to see the march of time in uplifts and fault blocking. Vast plains of sand and clay lie between sky islands of mountains. The nakedness of the land is apparent. No vegetation obscures the continent. What does grow defends itself with bayonet, hook and spike. At once barren and living, the land talks of eternity. The oppressive glare of the sun reduces all to the elements of earth, sky and water.
Most of the images in this gallery are taken far away from any road or path. The focus is unlimited making feeble attempts to contain.
